Back in the late 90's, Ruins of Filgaia was known as "Dream
Chaser's Temple" on the Yahoo! Clubs. It went very well, we had several hundred
members join, until my Yahoo! account was hacked and the club was deleted. After
it was deleted, I didn't feel like creating a new club, since the old one was
lost after so much hard work. But after being inspired by a friend of mine, I
decided to recreate the club and call it "Dream Chaser's Temple".
After a few months, I decided to create a Wild Arms website
on Geocities. The website wasn't that big, it just had the usual generic stuff a
regular site would have. I didn't bother to update it since there was absolutely
no news for the Wild Arms series at that time.
A few months later I noticed the Yahoo Club was dying, due to
the fact that no one continued to post. Deciding it was time to change things, I
went and created an EZBoard for the club. Announcing about the move, I deleted
the club a month later. The message board went well, we got the usual normal
amount of members a message board would have. Later on the months, I decided to
rename the message board from Dream Chaser's Temple to Ruins of Filgaia Forums
and promoted the forums with top site lists and emailed several Wild Arms fans.
As the months went by and the popularity of Ruins of Filgaia
increased, I noticed that EZBoard was becoming obsolete and the quality has
dropped, not also to mention it was also popping up ads like a madman. So I went
and did some forum searching for a new message board. I had come across several
message boards but none was good enough to be a replacement message board, until
I discovered Forumco. At the time, it had almost everything I needed, but there
were some features it didn't have that EZBoard had, features such as avatars.
I decided to create a Forumco account, in case we'd have to
move if the worst case scenario came. A few months later, I went to check up on
Forumco and noticed that it not only had avatars, but the private message
feature as well! I was excited and decided it was time to move from EZBoard to
Forumco. I went straight to work and used the sunset template colors for the new
message board, since they were perfect for the Wild Arms feel. After a few weeks
the move was complete.
After settling in with the new message board, I decided to
create a brand new Wild Arms website, but with my inadequate skills in html, I
asked two close friends of mine, Lady Harken and Elmina to create me a layout
for the new site. After agreeing, they went straight to work on it. Elmina
designed it and ended up redesigning, too. Harken, who is the co-administrator
for Ruins of Filgaia Forums, continued to pester me with updating the site. So
the site continued to be a ghost site, until...
In the beginning of summer 2003, we finally got a domain
name, and moved both the site and the forums. Later in 2005, Jeneko redesigned the site layout.
We'll try to update whenever we can!
